Since our last post so long ago...we've driven many miles, and then we flew even more and are now back in Slovakia. There is so much to tell about the rest of our furlough, so we'll sit down now and get this blog up-to-date.
June 11th we arrived in Illinois and were greeted at Ed's parents' house by his 4 local siblings and their 18 kids. It was Cousin Heaven right from the start! We stayed with Ed's parents for these three weeks and were able to spend some good times with his immediate and extended family. We also loved the times spent with Wendi's relatives in the area...Grandma, aunts and uncles and cousins. Every morning, lunch and supper was spent with someone different as we made our rounds to be able to see as many as possible. Our home church is here too, so we also had so many of our church family with whom we wanted to connect.
How blessed we were in these times spent with all of you in our hometown and state. Great memories were made and sweet times of communication were enjoyed as we tried to catch up on the last 2 1/2 years apart! Thank you to all of you who had us in your home for meals, or met with us for coffee, or had our kids over to play, or took us out to dinner, or had us over to swim, or connected with us at church. We so enjoyed spending time with you!
These pictures are all from our Rumbold family times together during these 3 weeks. Ed's sister Jen's family came from Colorado so the entire Rumbold family was together for about 10 days...Ed's parents, five siblings & their spouses, and 27 cousins. Together with our family of 7, we totaled 46 altogether. It was a constant party!! We packed a lot into those days, and so enjoyed time with this close group! A big thank you to Mike & Rachael and Doug & Jess for all the great pictures! And a HUGE thank you to Dad and Mom Rumbold for making all of this fun happen!
