The Photo Shoot

I thought I'd post some of the progressions of pictures from the cold photo shoot. Sometimes those make the best memories, yet never seem to make it to the Christmas cards! CRAZY!!!

"Normal things"

Think about the normal things you get excited about during an average day: sports, food, types of beers or wine, family, conversations, relaxing, etc - How many of "your" things actually start with Jesus? How many are used to glorify Him? How many are used to glorify yourself?

In Ephesians 2:10 He says, " For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Are these "normal things" from God, reflecting God and who He is or just our own things because we have not really looked to do what God has "prepared for us to do"?

To my shame I have to admit that often I am not doing what God has for me. I am doing what my own selfish side wants to do. But I thank Jesus for His grace. In Him and through daily dying to myself I am slowly, oh so slowly, being transformed into His image. May we all be continually giving our "normal things'' to Jesus so that we will be able to do the work He has for us. Why wouldn't we want to? He already has them prepared for us to do and in that is freedom.
